Dear Valued Customer,

We are contacting you today to notify you of three issues discovered with the PCAP variant of the TS-TPC-7990.

The first issue is that the TOUCH_RESET pin is floating and may cause the system to lose communication with the touch controller after an extended period of time.  This is fixed with an FPGA update (Rev 2) that drives it high on startup, and allows software to control it later.  The #FPGA section in the manual is updated with the new register 59 now in rev 2.

The other issue is around false touch events.  These only happen while you are pressing on the screen and it will appear like the screen is being tapped.  Part of this fix will involve a resistor modification to remove a pulldown on the touch IRQ, but this issue is still being investigated.  We'll send another notice when we have a fix for this problem.

You can submit an RMA for the FPGA reset issue and we can address this and the IRQ pulldown fix now.  At this time we are not certain if the pending touch IRQ fix will require an RMA in the future.
