Dear Valued Customer,

We are contacting you today to address a U-Boot change for TS-4900 based products from Technologic Systems.  The new version of U-Boot (dated Oct-14-2015) provides a bug fix and additional feature support and will being shipping on new products after Nov 09, 2015.  This software is also available immediately on our FTP server.  This change should have no effect on any products not needing the bug fix or feature addition.

The affected products are: TS-4900, TS-TPC-8390-4900, TS-TPC-8950-4900

This U-Boot change corrects a bug with the Ethernet MAC address for a USB based second Ethernet port on some base boards that utilize the TS-4900.  It also adds the sataboot command to the default enviroment.

TS-4900 devices are programmed with two MAC addresses, but the USB Ethernet devices had a bug that caused them to generate a random MAC address.  The Oct-14-2015 U-Boot version puts a second MAC variable in U-Boot which is passed to the kernel.  The Linux kernel also requires a patch for the USB Ethernet to utlize this MAC address.  This new image is available on our FTP site and will be applied to shipping products as a staged release at a later date.

Additionally the Oct-14-2015 U-Boot version adds the sataboot command in default environment.  The sataboot command must be called manually or put in bootcmd to be used.
